Athens County Family Services Planning Committee
The ACDJFS Planning Committee, consists of interested members in the Job and Family Services programs, serving as an advisory group to the County Commissioners. The committee’s purpose is to identify, develop and provide supportive services to empower all county residents to achieve self-sufficiency and to monitor the progress and effectiveness of programs and services. OhioMeansJobs - Athens County houses our career development services. These include adult education, job search assistance, jobs board, job training, computer center, child care provider and ex-offender Reentry programs. This center also provides office/meeting space for many of our community partner agencies and frequently hosts workshops and special events.
The Ombudsman answers comments, questions and complaints from area residents. The ombudsman can also answer general community information and help clients get in touch with other social services agencies in the region. To speak with the ombudsman, call 740-797-2523.
